
10. Adjust the vertical alignment of the beam on mirror M2 by adjusting the
hexagonal screw at the front of mirror M1.
11. Check that the light is not clipping the lens, the transmission port to the sphere
(at the back of the sphere), or the reflectance port on the sphere (at the front of
the sphere).
12. If necessary, adjust M2 in the same way as M1.
Hot Tip
You will have to remove the accessory from the sample compartment to adjust
the vertical position of the beam with the hexagonal screw at the back of M2.
Checking for the specular component
1. Place the accessory cap in position with the 'D' mark upwards.
2. Clamp the mirror over the reflectance port. The reflective surface of the mirror
should face the reflectance port.
3. The beam reflected from the lens should strike the back of the sphere housing
approximately 10 mm from the edge of the transmission port.
4. Adjust the beam by loosening the screws on either side of the lens and then
rotating the lens to move the beam position.
